From St. Maarten
to the Bay.

Justen grew up on the island of St. Maarten in the Dutch Caribbean. Fishing started on the docks of a local fishing village after homework — the captains there would give him scraps from the fillets to use as bait. From that point on Justen was hooked. All he wanted to do was fish.
At 12 he moved to Rhode Island for a better education and started expanding into bass and fly fishing. Right out of high school he became first mate on a charter boat out of Point Judith. After too many long New England winters, he moved back to St. Maarten to finish his education in marine mechanics.
With his skill and local knowledge he quickly became the go-to guide for private yachts and expats. Justen partnered with a fellow Rhode Islander to run their own rod-and-reel commercial operation for five years in St. Maarten.
For the past four seasons he's been back working boats in Rhode Island. Today Justen splits his time between Portsmouth and St. Maarten — focused on providing the best fishing experience to beginners and experienced anglers alike.
